Our business is organised differently from a conventional high-street solicitors' practice. We operate with a lean structure and, where appropriate, work with experienced independent specialists rather than maintaining a large permanent professional team.

That enables us to control costs, and to offer fixed prices wherever the work allows.

We generally assess a matter before proposing a charge. Where possible, we offer agreed fixed prices. We explain the work to be undertaken and the proposed costs before a client commits to paid instructions.

Our aim is to deliver experienced and practical assistance at a fair and transparent price.

Before any paid work begins you will be told in writing who will carry out the work, who is responsible for it, what regulatory protections apply and how the service will be charged.

Our written quotation identifies the work included in Talk Legal’s fee. Where we arrange an independent specialist to carry out work included in that agreed scope, their cost is covered by the agreed Talk Legal price. Counsel’s fees are not included in our quoted fee unless expressly stated in writing: if counsel is proposed, we identify the work, explain the charging arrangement and set out any additional counsel’s fees for your agreement before you are committed to them.

Where you separately engage a regulated firm or another professional, their own terms and fees apply. We explain that arrangement before you decide to proceed, and additional work or charges require your written agreement.

Where we say our prices are lower, we’re describing how our business is structured — not making a blanket comparison with every other provider. Different firms offer different services, at different levels of seniority, with different regulatory protections and different costs.
